Neutral Milk Hotel

Neutral Milk Hotel are a fuzz-folk band started in Athens, Georgia on the Elephant Six record label. The band is mainly known for it's deep lyrics and odd instrumentation. The band's trademark album, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, has been called one of the most influential albums on the indie scene.

Influences

Like many of the Elephant Six bands Neutral Milk Hotel are heavily influenced by bands from the 1960's such as The Beach Boys and The Zombies. They're also heavily influenced by noisier bands like Sonic Youth and The Minutemen.
