Hey All,

Im here to report on exactly how bandOpedia is going at the moment. We are still adding heaps of new features and pages, im sure you will (or should have noticed the Metal portal. This same page will be repeated for all genres.

Remember anyone can now add reviews, gigs and news so please get adding and unleash your creative genious.

Soon we will implement a Featured User section fo the website, to apply for this then email us (look at the contact page).

We also need more pages (and users) so please get adding. And get updating as well because we need to get more and more content up on the website!

The whole site has been updated, repaird or is in the process of being updated. we are adding more content and also organising the content that we had on the database.

The website will still have a few more things added to it, but a specific time frame is out of the question at the moment.

Ive been adding heaps of genre list, they have around 200 or so bands on each maybe more. Most if not all bands have articles on wikipedia in which to gather information. please if you get the chance fill these up

mostly wikipedia, allmusic and some other sites, google is my friend. im constantly adding lists of bands so we can organise them, but because we only have 1000 band profiles at the moment most of the links are dead.

yea, the reason i put that in, is there is a MIILLION new bands in there. some of the links need to be fixed i think, i got most of it off wikipedia. im going to bed now, so feel free to work on that as much as you can. the more articles we get the better

ill find some mroe lsits 2morrow. as i like them we need as many of these as we can, becuase the more we have the more badns we have to do, and the more bands we have to do the more pages go into the wiki. the better this wiki is.!!!!!!

so please do as much as you can, ill put in my share tomorrow. im hoping that more people come on to help out. if you know anyone to help please get them in.

I think that, along with the 'Band of the Week' or whatever box, we should also have the same for Musicians.

I think we should start with some detailed profiles - I think the most complete profile on the site is System of a Down.

Just an idea.

i added the list (hall of fame) so that there would be mad amounts of broken links, im going to find some more lists to put up, becuase i like them and that they will give everyone heaps of stuff to do.

do you have ay ideas for organising the band list, the only thing i could think of is genre. or we could have multaple lists and sort them by many tings i.e. genre, decade formed, number of members, country of origion, bands with female members etc. jsut an idea, and i need some feedback on it.

I'm on it. I've informally finished the record labels - that is, I've documented the largest ones there are.

add sub categories about what instrument the musician played, eg. Guitar, Drums, Bass, piano, Vocals. this will make it a lot easier to browse the list

added a new category int he forum to focus on things concerning the site. to if there are any thigns tha tneed doing put it in the to-do list or the site suggestions forum, from there i will trya nd get around to it. and check in there alot as there may be some stuff that i post in there that needs doing.
